What's wrong with your windows?
Share your ideas; learn how others coped with their old, leaky windows
As a teenager, I remember many cold fall days standing on a ladder at my parents' house, putting up the storm windows on the second storey. I had to wash the regular windows first, and it was chilly, grueling, and unpleasant work. After I moved out, I lived in a series of rentals with poor insulation and drafty windows; I did my share of temporary weatherizing in those - from plastic sheeting to weatherstripping to closing off entire rooms. It's nice to finally live in a house where all the windows have been upgraded to low-e argon without storms.
