Reciprocal links

Green-Energy-Efficient-Homes.com accepts link exchanges with other sites that provide value to our visitors. That means, among other things, that your site (or the page on it we link to) needs to be relevant to the page we are linking from. We no longer do link exchanges through 'Resources' or 'Other sites' sections as quite frankly, real users pretty much never look at such pages.

Please fill out the form below to request a reciprocal link. Here are the guidelines in brief. Your request should meet these requirements:

Your website topic - or at least the page on your site you want us to link to - should be related to our themes of green homes and energy efficiency.
It may take us up to two weeks to get back to you. Please wait at least this long before any follow-up contacts.
If you want to expedite the process, you can link to us before you contact us - this always gets our attention sooner because we know you're serious. All links should:
- Link to a content page of our site that is relevant to the page you are linking from
- Contain as their anchor text (the text inside the <a href=...> ... </a> tag pair) the page keyword of the page being linked to. The page keyword is contained in the page title and the page filename on pretty much every page on our site.
We provide a handy "Link to this page" link at the bottom of all our content pages; use that if you don't mind. You can always edit what it provides.
Make sure your site is ready for reciprocal linking. If your site is less than 3 months old, has less than 30 pages, or has an Alexa ranking above 4,000,000, you should probably wait a bit.

Criteria for our linking back to you

If your website contains pages that are relevant to people looking for information on saving energy or green living, we would be happy to have you link to us and will link to you in return.

Please link TO a specific content page on our site, one that is relevant to the page where you have put it. And please use the keyword of the page (contained in the page filename and title) in the link text. For example, if the page is called "How to save electricity", the file name will be:

and the keyword of the page is 'how to save electricity'. You should make the anchor text for your link the text of the keyword. That will both help both your site visitors, and search engine spiders, know what the target page is about. We'll do the same for you, of course, especially if you tell us what keyword you want in the link to your page.

Please link FROM a specific content page on your site. Please DO NOT link to us from a 'Resources' or 'Other sites' section. We will not reciprocate and we will not respond to your request. These types of links are of no value to real visitors and because of that, it is also highly probably that the search engines don't value them either.

We recommend you use our "Link to this page" link at the bottom of the content page on our site that you want to link to, for the HTML code and text that we would prefer to see in your link to our site. This takes care of getting the keyword into the anchor, and getting a description of the page. Makes life easy for you. Or, use the provided text as a starting point, and edit it to target your site users.

If you'd like to include an image representing our site, you can use our site logo or a thumbnail of our home page. It's better if you link to the images on our site, rather than download the images yourself, so that if our logo or home page changes, your site will automatically show the new image. If you would like to propose a link exchange without having specific pages in mind, just use the Contact us page and send your proposal, being as specific as you can, since that means less work for us and helps us get back to you sooner.

We will try to get back to you about your link, but please be patient. Please contact us if you haven't heard back from us two weeks after your submitting this form.

Make sure your site is ready for reciprocal linking. Many owners of new websites make the mistake of proposing reciprocal links when their own site doesn't have enough content, or look professional enough, for the other party to want to link to them. If your site is less than 3 months old, or contains fewer than 30 pages, or has an Alexa ranking greater than 4,000,000 (or if you don't know what an Alexa ranking is), you should probably hold off on this and other reciprocal link proposals. Of course, you're welcome to link to us now, and ask for the reciprocal link later!

Don't bother proposing a reciprocal link if your site contains adult content, pharmaceuticals content, or content promoting illegal activities, is not relevant to people looking for information on saving energy, or only links from a Links or Resources or Other sites section.

Really, we do want to exchange links with you if you think our sites are on related topics and the exchange will help visitors to both our sites. All these guidelines are just because we don't want you to waste your time filling out a reciprocal link form when we aren't likely to reciprocate!
